Ya i heard about this quite some time ago, made me laugh because i knew it would follow the path of many other game movies that went horribly wrong... aka resident evil, house of the dead, that old mario movie, and so on

And trailer watched. Confidence partially restored. Liking the first-person (with gun!) camera angle. Not new yet certainly not common for an action film. Hope it's not just for a wee part of the movie and made to look longer in the trailer. On that note, hope it's actually in the movie and not just part of the trailer.
Also, not sure of people are aware: the monsters in the movie aren't CG. They're costumes. That imp you saw? Actor. Not sure if the same goes for the pinky demon at the end, however.

No. That would be the perineum.
Mutaint is a spread made from Vegemite mixed with spoiled mayonnaise.

Doom was the first (and to date ONLY) game to ever genuinely scare me. Half-Life had some startling moments, but those were created more by the nice AI and nifty story. Doom downright scared you... demons popping up out of no where, dropping in behind you, dark rooms full of mumbling creatures waiting to tear you apart. Oh yeah... good stuff.
Doom movie? WTH were they thinking? The Rock needs to go back to dropping elbows on people for a living. At least he can act enough to make that mildly entertaining. Who told this guy he could act anyway? Is Vinnie Mac getting a cut from each of his movies or something?
And as a Christian, I have no problem blasting demons. Someone tell Pat Robertson to get a damn life... unwind man, kick back a brew and waste some demon ass. Bring em on! Doom marine FTW!

Really?
Wow. So those "Jason" films and the "Exorcist" movies where evil "conquers all" are much more acceptable than "Doom" where evil is confronted and destroyed by a strong protagonist...

If you think its weird, they already have taken the right for games such as Splinter Cell (should be a decent movie) Halo, and many other games. So yeah, guess movie industry hope that people who brought those games (millions of people) would pay money to see it on the big screen

never been excited by a video game movie before, especially after watching the movie Doom... ehhhh....
But Silent Hill... after watching the teaser trailer (available on IMDB), I'm officially excited. Lets hope the movie lives up to the quality of the trailer itself.

I mean...I know when I was like 12 I'd work myself up over the first silent hill game but uh, after a whlie it just got old. Played some of the most recent ones and they're just not very scary, neither were the resident evil games. Blaso is by far the scariest game out there (for the original playstation). It's the hardest game on the planet, and I only know of two people who don't hate it and have beaten the game 100%. Every other review on it I've ever read just said it sucked major balls, but it's a great game, it's just really really hard. Go Blasto.

You mean that dam chicken that looks like a yellow square shooting smaller yellow squares at bad people. That game is hard because the game mechanics and platforming are done terribly not because the developers wanted to make it challenging. I wasted a birthday present on that dam chicken looooooong ago.

Im a 12 year old.
I played DOOM 3 at night, last night.
I screamed like a girl when the lights went out and I started hearing moaning, groaning, screamings, etc etc. And then when I flashed on my flashlight, what's that? Is that a friendly comrade? HELL NO. I walked up to the damn thing, and the "Zombie" slashed at me. Yes, I was scared at first. But gradually. I began to despise these pathetic nooblets. I pwned them all with my 1337 flashlight. Yes that's right. I'm able to kill them with a flashlight in two little thumps. And then, I can crouch and wack their body once to see their pathetic corpse blow up in a red cloud, revealing a pathetic skinny skeleton.
Yes, that was extremely fun.
Especially when I came to the bridge lowering access place.
Looked down the stairs, at a dark space.
Didn't bother shining a light.
Just peered down their for a bit more like the idiot I am.
I nearly pissed my pants when something jumped out of there and started scratching at me.
Yes, I cussed at my XBOX.
Yes, I took out the shotgun and started shooting at everything.
Yes, I took out my pistol and started shooting at everything.
Yes, I did run out of ammo.
Yes...I did get gruesomely killed by 3 zombie maniacs who feasted on my twitching corpse.
